Ambur's name is derived from Amai ie. water creature tortoise.Once there might had lived plenty of tortoise so this place was called as Amaiyur.Its oldest inscription bearing Pallava Nrupathunga record was lying buried.Buried news was told when a search was taken about 15 years. In Ambur a Naganatha temple is located. A Jain Tirthankara stome is lying in the town.In 1749 AD a battle was taken place between the allies of Hyderabad Nizam in which Santha Sahib took part and Muhammad Ali.In the end the aged king Muhammad Ali died.-M.gandhi.Ambur is a town known for its leather workers. It manufactures high-end shoes for export around the world.

    hi boss its very easy to travel frm ambur to pernambut .............once you reach ambur take first right u can c the sign bord way to pernambut then u can start continue the travel exactly after 7kilometrs you can find a small village ..its very popular village name gadambur the road has been diverted so don't take right you can take straight next 10 kilometer you can reach pernambut
